Title: UAS Flight Operations Specialist

Location: Grand Forks AFB, ND
Description: Provide contract aviation flight support to US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) program. Will work in a Flight Operations Center and provide mission support to include flight planning, scheduling, mission monitoring, reporting, mission analysis, site logistical support as well as program coordination, some administrative duties and duties as assigned by the UAS Director. Position also requires performing ground visual observation of airborne unmanned aircraft. Coordinates mission requirements daily with Air Force base agencies, the Federal Aviation Administration, other Department of Homeland Security and CBP personnel, contractors and law enforcement authorities in support of UAS operations. Requires ability to deploy to forward operating location for 2-4 weeks in support of National Security Operations such as Hurricane relief or natural disaster events.

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree highly desired, exceptions may be made. Requires high degree of computer literacy, to include proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs (specifically: Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel) as well as Adobe programs and other software.

Required Experience: Required four-years minimum aviation experience, US Air Force Experience desired, UAS experience desired but not required. Military / FAA pilot’s license preferred but not required. Other Requirements: Ability to pass CBP background investigation. Required to obtain and maintain FAA Flying Class II medical certificate. Required to work afternoons and evenings, some weekends & overtime, and to travel 2 to 6 weeks a year.
