Title: Aviation Maintenance Specialist
Type: Full-Time
Location: Washington, DC
Description: Aviation Maintenance Specialist have the “hands on” experience in their fields, the work they perform includes but is not limited to, reviewing “downed” aircraft reports, preparing spread sheets, preparing presentations, providing the aviation maintenance contract COTR with support as needed. Person in this field should have certification in aircraft structural/powerplant maintenance and a minimum of five years of hands-on experience. Specific Job Requirements • Apply technical issue resolution, logistics, system quality / supplier management, and related risk / impact assessment for Fixed Wing Assets • Assist CBP COTR with National Maintenance Contract as necessary • Work independently as needed, in technical and program schedule analysis, acquisition, maintenance and fleet operational processes • Utilize source document databases and periodic inspection reports in developing discrepancy reports • Ensure aircraft, aeronautical, and support equipment component configurations are correct and that all essential modifications have been incorporated • Assist with contract compliance for equipment repair, maintenance, upgrade, delivery, spares inventory, manpower, ground support, and training • Study and forecast future tooling and budget postures • Review Aircraft Configuration Change Requests for all Fixed-Wing aircraft and make recommendations based on the needs of the program • Assist acquisitions department with maintenance needs of proposed aircraft through research
Required Education: Secret Clearance CBP background Investigation Airframe and Powerplant License Inspector Authorization Certificate Airline Transport Rating- MEL, SEL Certified Flight Instructor Rating- MEL, SEL, Instrument
Required Experience: Minimum of two years of experience required in project office support Must be proficient in project coordination Experience in creating and maintaining databases is preferred. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including SharePoint Other Requirement: 15 years of aviation experience; 10 in civilian aviation, including five of hands-on experience Must have some experience as an Aviation Maintenance Supervisor.
