Title: Logistics Readiness Specialist

Description: The Logistics Readiness Specialist shall provide Supply Management tasks for assigned UAS equipment, support equipment, assemblies, parts, piece parts, associated equipment, tools, etc. Other duties consist of the establishment and operation of an approved inventory management system, organizing and provision of storage and warehousing, monitoring, tracking and reporting of equipment and parts availability and restocking. Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations for CBP’s behalf. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices. In addition, this position will be responsible for performing maintenance on all aircraft ground support and test equipment such as; vehicles, fuel truck(s), aircraft tug, various sizes of aircraft generation equipment (AGE) and ground support equipment (GSE) (both powered and non-powered), to include diesel and gasoline engines, generators, air compressors, hydraulic test/repair stands, air conditioners, heaters and related support equipment, lighting equipment and other equipment required to operate US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). Performs maintenance on and ensures AGE/GSE is functional and ready to support UAS program requirements and tasking. Specific Job Requirements • The Logistics Readiness Specialist shall provide Supply Management tasks for assigned UAS equipment, support equipment, assemblies, parts, piece parts, associated equipment, tools, etc. • Additional duties consist of the establishment and operation of an approved inventory management system, organizing and provision of storage and warehousing, monitoring, tracking and reporting of equipment and parts availability and restocking. • Additional logistics functions to be performed require participation in planning and preparation of UAS deployments to include creating deployment kits and readiness spare kits. • When requested, the LRS shall provide oversight for Aircraft Ground Equipment (AGE) and Ground Support Equipment. • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the CBP. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices. • The Contractor shall perform maintenance on all aircraft ground support and test equipment. The maintenance performed at each site will depend on the facilities, equipment, and tooling available. • GSE maintenance beyond the site capability shall be subcontracted. Daily inspection shall be conducted and documented on all powered GSE. Periodic mileage and hourly inspections shall be conducted and preventive maintenance performed that includes fluid and filter changes as prescribed by the manufacturer.
Required Education: Associates degree in in Applied Science, Aerospace Ground Equipment Technology, Bachelors degree preferred. Also would prefer a Graduate of the Aerospace Ground Equipment Advance Course; Aerospace Ground Equipment Repair Technical School; Aerospace Ground Equipment – 95 Gas Turbine Compressor Set.
Required Experience: Must have UAS experience in: • Reviewing materiel requirements, requisitions and inventory transfers to ensure project(s) requirements are met. • Review cycle count results and resolves inventory discrepancies. • Able to analyze and resolve obsolete and excess inventory issues; review and analyze ABC codes and order policies of parts. • Review, analyzes and resolve conflicts in supply and demand, investigates as required and presents findings to management. • Develop reports and procedures implement inventory control programs to ensure project(s) requirements are met on time and within budget. • Review and update inventory control policy and procedures. • Analyze and maintain sufficient inventory levels to meet Hi-Time and repair requirements; while maintaining inventory level in accordance with management guidelines. • Function for inventory monitoring and control; coordinate with IT in developing inventory data collection reports. • Develop and in an advisory or leadership role and provides direction and guidance to less experiences staff.
