Title: Application Developer – Level III
Type: Full-Time
Location: Jacksonville, FL
Description: The Application Developer III will work with other application developers, team members, management personnel, and customers in the analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation of quality software component modules and feature enhancements for windows based and web-based application systems using Microsoft’s .Net technologies. The Application Developer III will participate in extensive object oriented design and development of client-side UI, server-side logic, and database interaction using known development patterns and the agile software development processes for both distributed application development and hardware level application domains. Primary Responsibilities: 1. Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle; requirements analysis, development, testing, and implementation. 2. Participate in logic and design discussions. 3. Develop, maintain, and debug new product features and enhancements. 4. Develop improvements for existing processes. 5. Aid in product conversion to newer technologies. 6. Contribute to the review and analysis of new and revised business requirements. 7. Create, maintain, and present technical documentation of all code development. 8. Contribute in resource, technical, and risk assessments. 9. Develop and write software application program code with general supervision and within specified procedural standards. 10. Develop test programs/unit tests and prepare test data to assure the correctness of program logic 11. Debug and troubleshoot current production code to assist in production program problems. Secondary Responsibilities: 1. Assist in program installation, maintenance, and data recovery. 2. Prepare required documentation to include software application and user documentation. 3. Assist in the training of software administrators and users when required. 4. Assist and mentor junior level application developers. 5. Assist Software Engineer/Software Development Manager as needed.
Required Education: Required Skills & Abilities: 1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or related field. 2. 6+ years development using C#, C++, C or Java and object oriented practices. 3. Web Services. 4. Unit Testing. 5. T-SQL, DTS, Data Replication, Stored Procedures. 6. JavaScript. 7. HTML/DHTML/CSS. 8. XML/XSLT/XSI. 9. Test driven development skills. 10. Troubleshooting and de-bugging skills.
Required Experience: 1. .Net Framework 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0. 2. Java/JavaBeans. 3. ASP.Net/C#/VB.Net. 4. Internet Information Server (IIS). 5. Apache/Tomcat. 6. Microsoft Visual Studio .Net 2005/2008/2010. 7. Eclipse. 8. Oracle Database development. 9. Classic ASP (VBScript). 10. Team Foundation Server 2008/2010. 11. Subversion/Tortoise. Required Competencies: 1. U.S. Citizenship. 2. Ability to obtain government security clearance. 3. Good written and verbal skills. 4. Must be able to travel 10% time. 5. Ability to multi-task. 6. Ability to Analyze and problem solve. 7. Ability to receive direction and proactively resolve challenges and issues. 8. Self-motivated Desired Competencies: 1. 4+ Years software development and Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or related field can be substituted in place of Bachelor’s of Science degree. Accountability: Accountable to the assigned Applications Development Manager for satisfactory completion of all duties associated with this job task category. Must be able to obtain a CBP BI Clearance.
